چکیده

Rainfall runoff models are used to estimate design floods. These models require several inputs such as, rainfall duration, intensity, loss etc. For baseflow separation in design flood estimation the estimation of continuing loss (CL) is vital. The surface runoff has to be separated from the stream flow hydrograph. To obtain the volume of surface runoff, the use of an appropriate baseflow separation method is essential and in this paper an exponential method is used to assess the impact of baseflow on continuing loss estimates. The sensitivity analysis shows that the required baseflow separation coefficient (α) could be estimated using 3 to 5 rainfall streamflow events from the study catchment. The selected α can then be applied to other rainfall streamflow events of the same catchment to observe the sensitivity on continuing loss estimate. It has been observed that a small degree of error in the selection of α value does not significantly affect the estimates of the CL values. Rather than using complex rules, the method and procedure used in this research for baseflow separation can be used to estimate α for all other Queensland catchments. Exponential smoothing method of base flow separation and its impact on continuous loss estimates

The calculation of loss is vital for design flood estimation models and in order to estimate continuing loss (CL), proportional loss (PL) and volumetric runoff coefficient, the surface runoff has to be separated from the total given in a stream flow hydrograph. To obtain the volume of surface runoff from the streamflow hydrograph, baseflow separation becomes necessary and in this paper a few ba...

Investigation on MDF market demand in Iran

The medium density fiberboard (MDF) market demand was investigated during the years from 2004 to 2013 in Iran. Estimation of MDF demand was made by exponential smoothing method by the year 2018. The insight into the level of demand that might exist by the year 2013 was obtained by reviewing the production, import, export, and consumption of MDF on the Iran. The results show that the consumption...

Approximating Bayes Estimates by Means of the Tierney Kadane, Importance Sampling and Metropolis-Hastings within Gibbs Methods in the Poisson-Exponential Distribution: A Comparative Study

Here, we work on the problem of point estimation of the parameters of the Poisson-exponential distribution through the Bayesian and maximum likelihood methods based on complete samples. The point Bayes estimates under the symmetric squared error loss (SEL) function are approximated using three methods, namely the Tierney Kadane approximation method, the importance sampling method and the Metrop...

Presenting a model for Multiple-step-ahead-Forecasting of volatility and Conditional Value at Risk in fossil energy markets

Fossil energy markets have always been known as strategic and important markets. They have a significant impact on the macro economy and financial markets of the world. The nature of these markets are accompanied by sudden shocks and volatility in the prices. Therefore, they must be controlled and forecasted by using appropriate tools. This paper adopts the Generalized Auto Regressive Condition...

E-Bayesian Estimations of Reliability and Hazard Rate based on Generalized Inverted Exponential Distribution and Type II Censoring

Introduction      This paper is concerned with using the Maximum Likelihood, Bayes and a new method, E-Bayesian, estimations for computing estimates for the unknown parameter, reliability and hazard rate functions of the Generalized Inverted Exponential distribution. The estimates are derived based on a conjugate prior for the unknown parameter. E-Bayesian estimations are obtained based on th...
